It was a really fortunate coincidence that I came across Jaymie’s shop on the internet. Another blogger, Bunnipunch, wore one of her necklaces at London Fashion Week in February. What caught my attention was the fact that said necklace was the most perfect hand drawn mini version of a Chanel 2.55 bag – currently number 2 on my list of favourite bags. I had a look at Jaymie’s website and immediately fell in love with her jewellery creations, all carefully drawn on so-called ‘shrink plastic’ (shrinkable plastic sheets). I wanted to buy a little Chanel bag necklace first (on sale!), but changed my mind when I saw that she creates custom necklaces as well. Wouldn’t it be cool to wear a mini version of the bag you’re carrying around on your arm, around your neck? Yes, it would! I’m lucky enough to own my own Chanel 2.55, but – like I just said – it’s only number 2 of my favourites. Number 1 is one of Lulu Guinness’ lips clutches which will be mine in only 3 weeks’ time. I contacted Jaymie with my idea of a Lulu Guinness custom necklace in the shape of a lips clutch, with stripes in the ‘Lulu colours’. She responded to my email very fast and told me my idea can definitely be made into a necklace. Yay! The finished necklace arrived last week and my friend is taking care of it until I’m back in London.
If you want your own custom made necklace by Jaymie or if you want to buy one of her necklaces (the Chanel No. 5 perfume bottle necklace is really cute as well..all of them are!), have a look at her website here or contact her @JaymieOC on Twitter! The photos above were taken by my lovely friend Jo of Jorina.
