Berlin Fashion Week – Toast&Jam Vintage Fashion Fair and Show

The Toast & Jam vintage fashion fair and show was one of the events I was looking forward to most. Now guess why! Right, because it’s VINTAGE fashion! I do have a thing for all things, vintage, old, very old..and Stone Age. Haha. No, but I love old stuff because I have the feeling there’s a great story behind every old dress, shoe etc. And of course they look nice! There were so many amazingly styled and dressed people at the vintage fair, I even felt underdressed.

With exhibitors such as Etsy, Veist Kleidergeschichten, Mayflower Vintage, Class of Berlin and Memory Vintage, everyone could find something to buy.

The show was the best at the whole Fashion Week in my opinion.

I love the shoes in the picture above!

Again: Great shoes!

Red Classic Cambridge Satchel

I would lie if I said I needed a new bag, with over 20 lovely eye candy bags patiently waiting in my room to be used. But when I saw this great vintage style bag I simply couldn’t resist (wait, I have said that before about other bags…). Not only does it have a great ‘vintage red’ colour, but my initials in gold letters on it as well! It arrived at my house Tuesday morning, thanks to FedEx, and I’ve used it every day since then. I already got a lot of compliments on it and a friend of me even wanted to buy it from me. Well, she’ll have to order her own bag, because this cute bag is mine! I’ll make sure to take it with me when I go to its ‘birthplace’ Cambridge this summer. Cambridge satchels have been featured on many great blogs, like Fashionista, The Cherry Blossom Girl and, most recently, Style on The Couch.

Deep In The Woods

I have found that long walks in the woods, especially on sunny days in spring, are very liberating. Flowers and trees blossom everywhere and you can hear birds singing. A forest is a magical place where you can think and relax. Unfortunately I don’t often have time to be there.

I’ve done a photo illustration of her before, but wanted to add Carrie to my ‘Blogger Drawings’, pencil portraits of various bloggers I love. I still really enjoy reading her blog and looking at her beautiful photos. If I had to choose a favourite blog post on her blog, I wouldn’t be able to decide, because they’re all so amazing.

It’s tea time!

A Camden Town Appreciation Post

It’s crowded with tourists, it’s busy and it’s full of stuff no one really needs…and still it’s one of the places in London I love most! Though it is crowded, especially on weekends, it’s not the same as Central London. People aren’t just standing in the way, taking photos of some old buildings while busy Londoners are trying to push past them. It’s kind of a world of its own. A world of vintage, shabby chic and all things weird and cute, basically all things I love. I come here not only for shopping, but also if I just need a place where I can think. I like to sit by the canal with a cupcake from Mimi’s Cupcakes, a Chaboba Bubble Tea or a Caramel donut and watch the boats flow by. I think it’s a real pity that you’re not allowed to take any photos in most of the shops. There are so many things I’d love to blog about in Camden, especially all the cute dresses, coats, hair bows etc! Fortunately I sometimes didn’t see the little ‘No photos’ sign and could take a few photos. The pictures above show AllSaints, one of those cute little stores, the famous ‘Camden Lock’ and the colourful houses.

Task PR A/W12 Press Day

Task PR is an ever-growing PR agency with clients such as Marc Cain, Thomas Sabo, Ash, Tamaris, Kirk Originals, Ribkoff and lots of other exciting brands. All of the collections shown on their A/W12 press days on April 11th and 12th were unique and gave a foretaste of the autumn and winter trends this year.

A bright and warm orange and red seem to be the dominating colours in the A/W12 Marc Cain collection. I also loved the Thomas Sabo collection – elegant and very cute with crystal polar bear rings and necklaces. The Kzeniya collection was one of those which fascinated me most: edgy bag designs with studs, metallic colours and book style – which seems to be a very popular autumn winter trend this year among handbag designers. The food was trés fantastique, and I know I’m not the only one who thought so. Of course I was also busy taking photos and talking to amazing people like Charles of Chasebondstyle and the ladies from Marc Cain.

What fascinates me most about Carries blog are the breathtakingly beautiful photos. She’s so very talented! Every of her photos opens a way into a different world for me; one of vintage clothing, Mulberry bags, Fashion Week and many other fantastic things. I’m addicted to and obsessed with the photos on her blog!

Overheard at London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week is over now (insert sad face here), but I still have to laugh at the things that were overheard at the shows. Yeah, we understand the fashion world isn’t always glamorous, say no more…

‘Can I go in front of you I have a show that starts in 5mins’ #ModelLies (@missjourdandunn) My usual excuse at the supermarket…

Overheard re #LFW “Somerset House was full of bloggers photographing bloggers asking for photos in return. THE most horrific circle jerk.” (@nikthakkar) I thought this is what Fashion Week is about.. :-)

‘If this outfit doesn’t get me on a street style blog, I give up.’ (theplatform on youtube) See, I KNEW this is what Fashion Week is about!

‘She said she wears Versace. It was Versace for H&M!’ Oh dear, how COULD she?!…

‘Those shoes are killing me!’ I share her pain. But flat shoes at Fashion Week? Oh god, no!

‘Oh my god, you got two phones!’ ‘It’s just for Fashion Week.’ (theplatform on youtube) I have two phones…not for Fashion Week.

‘This dress looks gorgeous on me! How much is it?’ #modeltalk  #modelaftershow You can afford it, dear, believe me.

Just overheard v exciting fashion chat btwn Jonathan Saunders & @StarworksGroup re how late he can make Anna wait. 10 mins apparently #lfw  (@Pat_McNulty)

Overheard at Nicole Farhi:”whos that tall woman front row with the bad nose job who thinks everyone should know who she is?” #lfw  (@ScotsmanCurrent) Yeah, those people are clearly annoying..

Overheard from an angry girlfriend:”You bought me dinner and flowers, not a fucking YSL Arty ring!” #LFW” (@Osman_Ahmed_)

Overheard at #LFW “I thought everyone would be more botox-ed”  (@SarahRHarrison) Oh sorry, but Botox is sooooo 2011!

Overheard. Fashionista: “2 skinny lattes”. Waiter: “we only have whole milk”. Fashionista. *stamps foot* “I CAN’T DRINK WHOLE MILK!” #LFW  (@HannahRochell)

Overheard in costa before Clements, ‘Sometimes I just wish I could sit on the 4th row. Front row is really hard work’ #FASHIONWOES #LFW (@RachelHaworth)

Forgot to tweet this before, but overheard at LFW/Somerset House “Fabric is the new print” (Barely restrained myself from snorting loudly) (@Libertylndngirl)

Mulberry – A/W12 London Fashion Week

Mulberry had the most amazing Front Row at London Fashion Week so far, with stars like Mulberry muse Lana Del Rey, Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen, Billy Nighy and many many more. American Vogue editor-in-chief, the woman herself, Anna Wintour, also was there to see the ‘monsters’ walking down the catwalk. The show and A/W12 collection of Mulberry apparently was inspired by ‘Where The Wild Things Are’, the book by Maurice Sendak. 2 huge monster statues were watching the show, stood left and right of the catwalk. The models wore long-haired coats, skirts, jackets and – very amusing – a long-haired dog joined the models on the catwalk. My favourite AW12 Mulberry bag is featured below; it reminds me a bit of Chanel.
