Burberry Prorsum AW12 Illustrations

The Burberry Prorsum AW12 show was hands down the best show at London Fashion Week. Fake rain and thunder, music by Marina and the Diamonds (‘Numb’) and a front row like no other. The collection itself is fabulous. It’s chic and playful and I love it! Which is the reason why I chose two of my favourite Burberry AW12 pieces to illustrate.

Blogger Drawing: Charles of ChaseBondStyle

Charles, fashion stylist and creative director for chasebondstyle, and I met at the Task PR AW12 press day a few weeks ago and he asked me to draw a picture of him after he saw the other blogger drawings on my blog. It took me a while to finish this drawing, but here it is. I really hope you like it, Charles!

Lulu Guinness – Burlington Arcade store & AW12

I had an appointment with Tiffany, the Burlington Arcade store manager, last Wednesday and she showed me around the shop, showed me the beautiful bags from the current collection and gave me a look book of the Cruise 2011 collection and the SS12 collection. The store has 4 floors, all of them full of amazing bags, collectables, purses and sunglasses. There also is a kind of meeting area on the upper floor where I could spot some ‘new in’ pink cases from Lulu’s luggage collection. As you may have noticed by now (chrm, chrm), I’m a big Lulu fan, so every time I enter one of her shops, my heart is melting and I can feel my purse begin to shake inside my bag. This time I was especially excited, because I was going to buy a lips clutch. It’s Lulu’s signature bag and if you love her bags and designs as much as I do, you simply have to get one!

I also spotted this which is so cute! Have tea with style.

AW12 collection

Lulu’s AW12 collections is named ‘Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover’ and was inspired by Audrey Hepburn as well as the many vintage book shops on Charing Cross Road. The collection is very book and library themed, which I love! I love books and libraries and love to escape into a different world by reading. The collection seems perfect to me! The AW12 collectable is the stack of books with Lulu’s favourite sayings and quotes. She also created the book bags in various colours like shocking pink with titles like ‘Dare To Be Different’ (my favourite!) and the Librarian Doll Face. Haircalf, snakeskin, leather and butter soft Italian nappa are the collections key fabrics and black, red and pink (my 3 favourite colours!) are the colours which appear most often in the collection. The collection is unique, luxurious and simply perfect!

Task PR A/W12 Press Day

Task PR is an ever-growing PR agency with clients such as Marc Cain, Thomas Sabo, Ash, Tamaris, Kirk Originals, Ribkoff and lots of other exciting brands. All of the collections shown on their A/W12 press days on April 11th and 12th were unique and gave a foretaste of the autumn and winter trends this year.

A bright and warm orange and red seem to be the dominating colours in the A/W12 Marc Cain collection. I also loved the Thomas Sabo collection – elegant and very cute with crystal polar bear rings and necklaces. The Kzeniya collection was one of those which fascinated me most: edgy bag designs with studs, metallic colours and book style – which seems to be a very popular autumn winter trend this year among handbag designers. The food was trés fantastique, and I know I’m not the only one who thought so. Of course I was also busy taking photos and talking to amazing people like Charles of Chasebondstyle and the ladies from Marc Cain.

Mulberry – A/W12 London Fashion Week

Mulberry had the most amazing Front Row at London Fashion Week so far, with stars like Mulberry muse Lana Del Rey, Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen, Billy Nighy and many many more. American Vogue editor-in-chief, the woman herself, Anna Wintour, also was there to see the ‘monsters’ walking down the catwalk. The show and A/W12 collection of Mulberry apparently was inspired by ‘Where The Wild Things Are’, the book by Maurice Sendak. 2 huge monster statues were watching the show, stood left and right of the catwalk. The models wore long-haired coats, skirts, jackets and – very amusing – a long-haired dog joined the models on the catwalk. My favourite AW12 Mulberry bag is featured below; it reminds me a bit of Chanel.

DAKS – A/W 12 London Fashion Week

The DAKS A/W 12 collection show took place in Somerset House today, on the 2nd day of London Fashion Week. The collection by designer Sheila McKain-Waid combines modern and traditional fashion while concentrating on British elegance and heritage. Models in ostentatious checked tweed coats were walking down the runway and a cocoon-like coat with two different shades of red formed a contrast to the white, ivory, check and black.

DAKS is celebrating 50 years of being a Royal Warrant holder to Her Majesty – and with the collection radiating modernity and a fresh look as well as a British sense of luxury I can already see Kate Middleton in one of these amazing checked cocoon coats.
